Review: Simple Pore Minimising Toner

Good evening girlies,
I don't know about you... but once I've finished something within my skincare routine I'm always itching to get out there and find something different (even if the previous product worked well for me)... is that weird? Idk, lol. Well anyways... complete tangent!! My Boots botanics toner ran out, so I went to browse and look for another. Nothing was really grabbing my attention... so I picked up something that looked reliable, if that makes sense? So I ended up getting the Simple Pore Minimising Toning Cleanser.

Now, I've tried a few Simple products before and I really liked them! This however, just doesn't seem to do much for me?

This toner is a weird consistency, something that I haven't really come across before. It's not really a liquid, and is more like a runny gel - you can see bubbles in the bottle. After I've applied it with a cotton pad it does leave my skin feeling refreshed, but I also find it leaves a light residue that does take a while to go. It claims to minimise pores, which I suppose is true... they seem to have reduced in size but they are still visible. All in all, it's a pretty good toner but didn't have a 'wow' factor.

Where? Boots, Superdrug and most supermarkets
How much? £3.99
Would I repurchase? No. It's not bad, it just hasn't impressed me enough to re-buy.

What are you experiences with Simple? What's your favourite toner?

  1. My skin doesn't agree with simple, which seems strange as according to my aunt "there's nothing in it" but I always feel a bit dull after using it. Haven't tried this toner before and I'm all for anything that's pore minimising.

  2. I do the same! I'm always on a lookout for something new to try! Shopping for something better, I guess.

I was going to try Boots Botanics one day, how is it?

My favorite, and the toner I usually fall back on once I've had a not-so-good toner is Kiehls, but my husband and I fight over which one we want. He likes Rosewater (which has alcohol) and I like Cucumber (alcohol-free), this argument is one of the reasons we switch to other toners.

  3. @Rosie - I know what you mean about your skin not agreeing with it... it supposedly fine for sensitive skin and mines not even sensitive and sometimes it disrupts it. Hm, who knows!

@J E S S U - I really liked the Boots Botanics one, although I prefer the facial wash to the toner.
