Review: Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua

My logic is, that if I'm going to splash out on any make up product, it may as well be foundation. Because that's the most important part really isn't it? We all long for flawless, healthy looking skin without looking like we're wearing a mask. I got a few samples, one being Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua, and I instantly fell in love with it. So much so I bought it the next day...

It is extremely expensive at £31, so definitely grab yourself a sample first because otherwise it's a huge waste it you end up not liking it, getting the wrong colour or it being completely wrong for your skin.

This foundation needs to be shaken up before you use it, and it is quite a liquidy/runny texture. On application it feels weightless and blends seamlessly into the skin. It doesn't have the best coverage, but with concealer underneath it is perfect. Normally I'm into very full-coverage, heavy foundations but this has completely changed my mind. The most stand out thing about this foundation to me is that it looks like your skin. It matches the texture amazingly, making it look as though your skin is just very even and healthy. The finish is semi-matte in my opinion, it isn't too shiny but doesn't make your face look flat. I do powder over the top, purely because my skin is so oily. It stays on for a reasonable amount of time, it lasts a good 7-8 hours on me without touch ups.

The top photo was taken in natural daylight and the bottom with flash photography. Vitalumiere Aqua does have an SPF of 15 but as you can see, it photographs beautifully even with flash, without any the horrible white ghostface look.

I have oily, blemish prone skin and it certainly isn't perfect, but this foundation gives the illusion that it is. I've also heard many people with dry skin rave about this foundation too, so it's definitely one to give a try! I think it's well worth it and is probably always going to be a foundation that I own.

What did you think about this foundation?

Disneyland haul

Now I couldn't go to the magical Disneyland and resist the urge to buy cuddly toys and souvenirs, and I probably went a little bit mental. But here are the bits and pieces I bought home with me...

Yes, I went a little crazy but I was in DISNEYLAND! And how cute is Dumbo???

Do you go a little souvenir crazy on holiday?

My disney week in photographs

I've been away for a while because me and my boyfriend took a mini-holiday (4 days) to Disneyland Paris, and it was amazing!!! Does anyone know how I can become a Disney Princess?? Had a really great time, even though the journey there and back was a bit traumatic because train lines were undergoing work! I took 400+ photos but I thought I would share just a few - still going to be photo heavy though! Got lots of posts to come now I'm back though :) Hope you've all had wonderful weeks!

feline smokey

Last night I was extremely bored, and I ended up rooting through my make up and creating a dramatic (for me) smokey, winged out eye look. I've got into a make up rut of just winged eyeliner and fresh skin and it was nice to go for something a bit more dramatic. OH IT'S MY BIRTHDAY! 19! My last year of being a teenager :( I'm not going out tonight because I'm working, sad times, but if I were this is the type of make up I would wear...

Jemma Kidd Light as Air foundation
Bourjois Mineral Radiance powder
Bourjois Chocolate bronzer
MAC Melba blush

Matte Black from Sleek Storm Palette
Matte Tan from Sleek Storm Palette
Uban Decay White Rabbit
Maybelline Studio Gel eyeliner
Maybelline Colossal mascara
Ebay fake eyelashes

Rimmel Spotlight Beige lipstick

My birthday is going well so far... my dad bought an array of birthday treats for me to eat - including croissants for breakfast along with a Starbucks Caramel Latte. Won't be doing a birthday haul because I literally just got money :) Having to work tonight is a little bit crap, but I'm off to Disneyland on Sunday!

Hope you're all having a wonderful day, and that all of your new years resolutions are going well!
