My logic is, that if I'm going to splash out on any make up product, it may as well be foundation. Because that's the most important part really isn't it? We all long for flawless, healthy looking skin without looking like we're wearing a mask. I got a few samples, one being Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua, and I instantly fell in love with it. So much so I bought it the next day...
It is extremely expensive at £31, so definitely grab yourself a sample first because otherwise it's a huge waste it you end up not liking it, getting the wrong colour or it being completely wrong for your skin.
This foundation needs to be shaken up before you use it, and it is quite a liquidy/runny texture. On application it feels weightless and blends seamlessly into the skin. It doesn't have the best coverage, but with concealer underneath it is perfect. Normally I'm into very full-coverage, heavy foundations but this has completely changed my mind. The most stand out thing about this foundation to me is that it looks like your skin. It matches the texture amazingly, making it look as though your skin is just very even and healthy. The finish is semi-matte in my opinion, it isn't too shiny but doesn't make your face look flat. I do powder over the top, purely because my skin is so oily. It stays on for a reasonable amount of time, it lasts a good 7-8 hours on me without touch ups.
The top photo was taken in natural daylight and the bottom with flash photography. Vitalumiere Aqua does have an SPF of 15 but as you can see, it photographs beautifully even with flash, without any the horrible white ghostface look.
I have oily, blemish prone skin and it certainly isn't perfect, but this foundation gives the illusion that it is. I've also heard many people with dry skin rave about this foundation too, so it's definitely one to give a try! I think it's well worth it and is probably always going to be a foundation that I own.
What did you think about this foundation?
