My logic is, that if I'm going to splash out on any make up product, it may as well be foundation. Because that's the most important part really isn't it? We all long for flawless, healthy looking skin without looking like we're wearing a mask. I got a few samples, one being Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua, and I instantly fell in love with it. So much so I bought it the next day...
It is extremely expensive at £31, so definitely grab yourself a sample first because otherwise it's a huge waste it you end up not liking it, getting the wrong colour or it being completely wrong for your skin.
This foundation needs to be shaken up before you use it, and it is quite a liquidy/runny texture. On application it feels weightless and blends seamlessly into the skin. It doesn't have the best coverage, but with concealer underneath it is perfect. Normally I'm into very full-coverage, heavy foundations but this has completely changed my mind. The most stand out thing about this foundation to me is that it looks like your skin. It matches the texture amazingly, making it look as though your skin is just very even and healthy. The finish is semi-matte in my opinion, it isn't too shiny but doesn't make your face look flat. I do powder over the top, purely because my skin is so oily. It stays on for a reasonable amount of time, it lasts a good 7-8 hours on me without touch ups.
The top photo was taken in natural daylight and the bottom with flash photography. Vitalumiere Aqua does have an SPF of 15 but as you can see, it photographs beautifully even with flash, without any the horrible white ghostface look.
I have oily, blemish prone skin and it certainly isn't perfect, but this foundation gives the illusion that it is. I've also heard many people with dry skin rave about this foundation too, so it's definitely one to give a try! I think it's well worth it and is probably always going to be a foundation that I own.
What did you think about this foundation?
NATALIE, XO
I have this and really like it. The only problem is that I got it in the summer when I was much darker and I'm reluctant to sell out the money for a lighter shade. Looks like I'll just have to wait until the summer to use mine again!xx
ReplyDeleteThat is the only problem with this foundation :/ It's so expensive! Summer should be right round the corner though (who am I kidding?). You could always try mixing it with another lighter foundation? :)
DeleteIt looks great on you I have oily skin too x
ReplyDeleteI've heard so many good things about this foundation, I really want to try it! I think I am going to pick up a sample next time I'm in town :)

DeleteThis looks lovely, but I definitely can't afford to spend this much on foundation! xx
ReplyDeleteIt is super expensive, I'm kind of scared to use it day-to-day lol, worth the investment though, even if you just buy it once :) x

I can totally see why, it's an amazing foundation x
Deleteyour makeup looks lovely :) x
ReplyDeleteThank you! x
DeleteI just purchased this about a week ago, was a little skeptical, have only used it twice so far so I hope I begin to like it. What do you like about it? Do you have any issues with it getting oily or coming off half way through the day? Also what shade do you wear? I have fair skin and I got B10...
ReplyDeleteI hope you start to like it as much as I do :) I like it because I find it gives me enough coverage but feels SO light weight on the skin, and is barely detectable. I have really oily skin so I always use a primer and powder regardless of the foundation, but I find that this lasts a good 7-8 hours on me :) Mines in the shade B30 which is a tad too dark for me, a mix between B30 and B20 is probably perfect for me at the moment x
DeleteHi you look amazing. I think im going to get this foundation asap. But i just need your opinion, im nc20 in mac so do u think b10 or b20 suits me better? And does it oxidise?
