I need to ask for all of your expertise! I've never bought a 'high end' foundation and I have no idea why... because it seems like the most sensible make up product to splash a bit of cash on? But anyways, I have no idea which to go for first? Of course I'm going to get samples before I purchase a full bottle because well, I'd be silly otherwise?
The above foundations are the ones I've got my eye on at the moment, but I'd like your opinions on what are the best (very helpful if you've tried any of the above). I have oily skin so I'd like a foundation to be matte, last on my skin a long time, have medium-full coverage and photograph nicely :) What can you recommend me??
All of your opinions and advice will be very much appreciated!
NATALIE, XO
I tried the skin base last week - my skin is normal/combination and it gave me a lovely dewy finish...probably not what you're looking for then! I'd rule that one out if you want a matte finish. I've not tried any of the others, though! Mostly because I don't like a matte finish so perhaps you will like one of those!xx
ReplyDeleteI really want to try out those foundation, I own one Mac foundation the Mineralize SF15 one, and I hate it. The worst foundation I ever owned. I recommend you get samples of them and try them out before buying. xx
ReplyDeleteIllamasqua skin base is terrible on my oily/combo skin, I'd really recommend Vichy Dermablend which you can purchase from Boots. It's amazing, theres a review on my blog if your interested :) x
ReplyDeleteHiya,
ReplyDeleteI have oily skin too and use the MAC Studio Fix Fluid, I love it. It keeps my skin matte all day and its high coverage without being cakey. The only thing downside is that it does give you that white-ish glow in photographs...but I guess it depends on how often you get photographed :)
I've not tried any of the others but HTH :) xx
My absolute favourite is Chanel Mat Lumiere, but they are discontinuing it in December so if you are looking for a staple foundation that you will buy over and over again then it might not be such a great idea :( Mat Lumiere has amazing coverage, controls my oily tzone, doesn't need to be powdered and still has a tiny bit of luminosity to the skin.
ReplyDeleteI really like Armani Luminous Silk at the moment, I have oily skin too so don't be put off by the luminous aspect! It has no SPF and it photographs beautifully.

I use and love estee lauder double wear. I have oily skin and it keeps mine matt all day. It also give amazing coverage!
ReplyDeleteThanks girls, definitely got some good advice :) Lots to think about!

Chanel Mat Lumiere is the most amazing matte foundation but is being discontinued for a new foundation called Perfection Lumiere. I would definately get a bottle or two of Mat Lumiere though, and try Guerlian Lingerie De Peau aswell :)
ReplyDeleteEstée Lauder Double Wear is a really good high end foundation! It's quite pricey but its completely worth it. I have combination skin and this doesnt make me feel oily and its not heavy at all. It's also really good coverage!
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, I find MAC studio fix fluid quite heavy
